Canada Day Events around the Region, for kids and adults alike! Kitchener , University of Waterloo , and 13 Other Places To Celebrate Canada Day Locally!

Big Music Fest is happening July 10/11, but first it comes downtown with free concerts and fun from July 6-9th. Check out City of Kitchener’s event page for full details and performance schedule. Highlights include concerts by Jully Black and Lee Harvey Osmond as well as the KW School of Rock; food and drink, a family day with children’s performers, short films from local youth, and a Zombie Walk!

Join us as we celebrate STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math).  This FREE event features hands-on activities and demonstrations for children 5 – 12 and is hosted by popular children’s entertainer, Erick Traplin. Monday, July 6 Big Music Fest does Family Day, and regular STEAM Programming happens July 14, July 21, and July 28. Be a part of the weekly little innovator’s activities including: Robot Demonstrations, Dinosaur Exhibitions, Sand Exploration Map Animation Station and many more.

July 9-12, Neruda Arts’ Kultrún World Music Festival is the Waterloo Region’s only family friendly celebration of diversity featuring local, national and international artists, all-ages interactive activities for kids, workshops by professional artists, storytelling, performance art, a food and craft market, Boathouse beer garden and after-parties and lots more. And, best of all, this is a FREE festival!

BBQ ribs and chicken, craft beer, live entertainment – all in the great atmosphere of Victoria Park. Bring your friends, family and co-workers and savour the flavour this year as the downtown Kitchener Ribfest & Craft Beer Show on July 17-19, 2015. Admission is free but donations to The Food Bank of Waterloo Region will be accepted at the gate. Please note due to the nature of the event, anyone under the age of 19 must be accompanied by an adult.

The 23rd annual Sun Life Financial UpTown Waterloo Jazz Festival, the largest free jazz festival in Canada opens at 10:30 am Fri. July 17th with the Youth Jazz Ensemble and runs through to Sunday afternoon, closing at 3:30 pm with KC Roberts & The Live Revolution. Check out the lineup here!
