Special Services at Home

Special Services at Home is tailored for 0-17 year-olds with a developmental and/or physical disability who are Ontario residents. Once your funding has been approved, we can help you find Direct Support People and resources. We can also help manage your funding, making sure your Direct Support People and services are paid on time.
Thank you for supporting Angela and her swimming. She has qualified for the S14 classification and has been invited to the Olympic trials as an Olympic Para swimmer. I can't express how thankful I am for your support. Angela continues to work hard in and out of the pool. Your agency has given Angela the opportunity to follow her dreams...

I already have funding.
Fantastic! Once funding is approved, families have two options:
1. To self-administer their funding through the Ministry of Community and Social Services (MCSS).
2. To ask Extend-A-Family Waterloo Region (EAFWR) to administer your contract.
Extend-A-Family Waterloo Region Support Coordinators will assist your family with your initial application for SSAH funding – even if you choose to self-administer your funding. If you choose to have EAFWR manage your contract, a Support Coordinator will help you develop a plan for your funding, by providing reimbursement to your family for approved expenses (i.e. respite, camp/recreational fees, etc.) from the SSAH contract, or finding Direct Support People to support your family.
To set up a time to chat with one of our Support Coordinators, please fill out the form to the right, and we will connect with you.
