Strategic Plan: What Changed This Year
By: Mimi Mahmud, Equity Strategist
The second year of our Strategic Plan built on the foundation that was laid during year one. That foundational work strengthened how we build relationships, support our staff, and respond to community needs.
New approaches to donor engagement and partnership tracking have improved how we tell our story and sustain our work.
Tools supporting psychological safety, wellness, and recognition helped foster a more resilient workforce. Programs and partnerships became more inclusive and responsive through intentional outreach to historically under‑served communities.
Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging (EDIB) remained central throughout – with data collection systems, learning opportunities, and policy review tools now in place to support more equitable decision‑making across the organization.
Together, these improvements reflect who we have always been at our core: an organization grounded in relationships, committed to learning, and focused on building a community where everyone belongs.
As we plan for the future, we are paying close attention to:

- Workforce sustainability and wellness
- Responding to increased complexity of community needs
- Growing expectations for equity‑informed practice
- A changing funding and partnership landscape
Year 3 of Strategic Plan implementation will focus on:
- Consistent use of shared tools
- Learning from data and experience
- Refining program models
- Reflecting on the current, and preparing for, the next strategic cycle
