June 2026 Days of Significance

For the month of June, we invite you to join us to recognize several important Days of Significance that bring reflection, celebration and connection. This month, we highlight Pride Month, National Indigenous History Month and National Indigenous Peoples Day.

Pride Month

Pride Month is held in June. We proudly stand with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community — this month and every month. We believe in a community where everyone belongs, is valued for their contributions, and feels safe, seen, and celebrated for who they are. Pride is about love, identity, and the right to belong.

National Indigenous History Month

June also marks National Indigenous History Month — a time to honour the history, heritage, and diverse cultures of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples.

At EAFWR, we recognize the deep strength, wisdom, and resilience of Indigenous communities. We are committed to learning and unlearning, listening, and walking the path of truth and reconciliation with humility and respect.

We encourage everyone to take time this month to learn from Indigenous voices and celebrate the rich contributions of Indigenous Peoples past and present.

National Indigenous Peoples Day and Summer Solstice – June 21

For generations, many First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities have celebrated their cultures, languages, and traditions at this time of year. The summer solstice holds deep spiritual and cultural significance for many Indigenous Peoples, marking a time of renewal, connection, and celebration.
