Join us on April 5 and 6, 2024 for Walking Through Trauma Together: Support and Care After Sexual Violence, a conference presented by Extend-A-Family Waterloo Region.
An emerging reality for adults with developmental disabilities is the impact and experience of trauma related to sexual violence and exploitation.
This conference recognizes the Direct Support People who walk through and provide support during times of trauma and crisis. The secondary toll this places on those supporting it is real and challenging.
Join us to learn from experienced professionals about identifying and providing support to people who have experienced sexual violence, and how to maintain health and wellness for ourselves.

Friday April 5, 9am-4pm
Saturday April 6, 9am-12:30pm
NOTE: This year’s conference will be held in-person at Bingemans Conference Centre at 425 Bingemans Centre Drive in Kitchener.
Coffee, tea and baked goods will be provided on both days. Lunch will be available ONLY on Friday April 5.
This conference is for all Direct Support People who work in the community, day programs, group homes, and for families and community members..
