Food and culture have long been interconnected. Join your neighbours for a free six-week course, learning to prepare and cook healthy and family-friendly recipes.

Tuesdays, starting March 28th through to May 2nd

Kitchener Market – Market Place Kitchen
(300 King Street East, Kitchener)
Led by Red Seal chef and food educator Allison Mitchell of The Busy Locavore, you will learn about affordable meal planning and cooking with seasonal ingredients. Enjoy chef guided sessions through the first four weeks, while participants take the reins for the last two sessions, showcasing their own skills and cultural recipes. Share your knowledge, while building relationships with your neighbours and community.
Beginning March 28th, please RSVP to ensure your spot at all six classes. Only 20 spaces available for each class.

Week 1: Local, seasonal ingredients: What they are, where to find them and how to use them.
Week 2: Food budgeting and healthy options at the grocery stores: how to navigate nutritional labels.
Week 3: Kids: how to get your young ones involved in the meal planning, shopping and cooking, including simple launch and healthy snack ideas.
Week 4: Your food future: meal planning and making choices.
Week 5 & 6: Led by the group members: share your cultural or favourite recipes, and the unique ways you dive into cooking.
