Communications Coordinator
Part Time
Contract Position (10 – 15 hours per week)
This position is responsible for using exceptional time management , organizational, creative and people skills to ensure that our organization is represented in a positive manner in the community.
Responsibilities include keeping the community and those we serve informed through our website, social media, blogging, newsletters, and other media of events and current information related to our organization. The selected candidate will make presentations to community groups/partners.
The preferred candidate will have a post secondary degree/diploma in a relevant area, i.e., social sciences, communications, marketing or equivalent and/or related experience. The candidate will have the ability to communicate information about our organization in a clear concise manner to people at all levels within and outside the organization and have the ability to develop positive relationships with community corporations, organizations or partners and to work independently or as part of a team.
Must be innovative, creative and flexible, have the ability to develop and maintain an effective website. Must have in-depth knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter , Linkedin) and have experience in using them as effective business marketing tools. Knowledge of computer applications and experience and proficiency in using WordPress is preferred. Must have the ability to take initiative, set priorities and meet deadlines.
