You are invited to Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP) 10th Anniversary Celebration & Info Night

October 2, 2018 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Join Bridges to Belonging on Oct. 2 as they celebrate the 10th anniversary of the creation of the Registered Disability Savings Plan (RDSP), a Canada-wide registered matched savings plan specific for people with disabilities. RDSP is designed as a long-term savings plan to help the holder be better financially prepared for their future.

One of the goals of this event is to raise awareness of RDSP to those who are eligible, but have not yet opened an RDSP account.

The plan is open to anyone who:

  • has a social insurance number
  • is eligible for the Disability Tax Credit (DTC), and the Canada Child Tax Benefit if you have a child under the age of 19.
  • files income tax returns
  • chooses the holder (someone who makes the financial decisions)
  • is younger than 60 years old

Once an RDSP is opened, any $1 that is deposited could be matched by the government up to $3. For example, if $1,500 is deposited in an RDSP, the government could match with up to $3,500!

If you are living on a low-income or disability benefit, the government will put an additional $1000/year with no contributions required!
