Supported Extended Experiences and Discoveries (SEEDS)

SEEDS (Supported Extended Experiences and Discoveries) is a supported recreational program designed for people aged 18 and older to use their Passport funding in order to explore Ontario. This program is also fee for service.

Our approach puts what you want first and allows you to plan and develop an experience catered to you within the means of your budget.

You pick the region and we will provide you with a list of activities you can do or you can come with your own itinerary ready to go. All activities and accommodations are pre-paid, maximizing your time spent on fun!

Want to stay out overnight? No problem! This program is subsidized by a second funding source, so your overnight stays are taken care of.

Questions? Please email seeds@eafwr.on.ca.

Support Needs & Accessibility

Support Needs

Are you considering the SEEDS opportunity, but do not have support? We can provide that for you! We can match you with a DSP based on your interest and compatibility. Support can consist of drop off and pick up, or can be more involved, such as supporting you throughout the day or night.

Support is customized! Do you have someone in your life that would accompany you? That’s okay, a simple form will need to be filled out and they would be paid the respite cost recovery rate. The only restrictions for private support are those that Passport funding has:

  • Can not be your Primary Caregiver or Spouse of the Primary Caregiver
  • Can not be your  Parent or Step Parent of the client.
  • Can not be the your Spouse or Common law partner
  • Is over the age of  18 years r.
  • Is not the Person Managing your Funds
  • Is not individual or family who is receiving financial compensation from the Ministry to provide residential arrangements, supports or care for an adult with a developmental disability through a Ministry-funded service agency (e.g. Adult Protective, Service Worker, LifeShare).

Accessibility

Have any accessible needs that need to be considered? Please let your SEEDS contact know of any accessible needs.

Some of the accessible needs we can provide include transportation, overnight stays, passes or transfer chairs

Don’t see what you need? That’s okay! Let us know and we will work with you to find the best solution
