Leaders in Training (LIT) Program

Stay tuned for details about this year’s program!

The Leaders in Training Program is for people aged 14 + who are interested in working in the disability and/or recreation sector. This program includes training and hands-on learning at our Summer Program, leaving you equipped with the skills and knowledge to lead with confidence.

How It Works

Prior to working with our Summer Program, this program will provide inclusion, theoretical safe management, and communication and conflict training.

Participants will spend their first week shadowing a camp leader, learning the style and schedules of the camp as well as putting the training to use.

During the second week, leaders will take a more independent role in leading camp activities and making connections with campers.

An evaluation will be given at the end of the sessions outlining learning goals achieved and highlights of their time with the camp.

NOTE: If you are aged 18+, a police check will be required to participate

We are pleased to offer registration for Summer Program and Leaders in Training through MyCommunityHub.
