Mental Health First Aid Training

EAFWR is pleased to offer Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), an Opening Minds Program. This workshop provides you with the skills needed to support individuals who are navigating mental health crises or challenges. This workshop will help you to identify common signs of distress, and you will learn how you can provide immediate support and resources until professional assistance becomes available.

This training is offered four times a year, on Saturdays from 9:00am – 4:30pm.

Spots are limited and registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Registration will close two days before the training date.

There are two ways you can get to the WALES Building:

  • By entering the EAFWR parking lot and driving down to the WALES Building (the blue building at the end of the parking lot)
  • By entering from Braun Avenue

  • EAFWR staff or Direct Support People: FREE + hourly training rate for your time

Who is this workshop for?

This workshop is geared towards an adult audience. It is designed for Direct Support People, employees in developmental services, adults living with a disability and their families. We encourage Extend-A-Family Waterloo Region staff, facilitators and Direct Support People to take this training.
