Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI)
At the 7 hour session you will learn to:
- identify useful nonverbal techniques in the prevention of acting out behaviour
- develop verbal techniques to be implemented when de-escalation of verbal acting out is necessary
- understand physical principles of personal safety techniques to avoid injury if behaviour escalates to a physical level
- provide the best care, welfare, safety and security for the individuals you support
- apply the material covered in training to "real life" situations
Note: Extend-A-Family offers Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training that is appropriate only for
persons directly affiliated with our agency. This eligibility includes employees, volunteers and families that we support.
Wear comfortable clothing and bring your experiences with you!
During the 9:00am - 4pm session ~ we break for lunch.
Please bring a bagged lunch with you or we can recommend a local restaurant.
Light refreshments will be provided!
Please show up 15 minutes prior to your training session
