Medically Fragile and/or Technologically Dependent (MFTD)

This program is specifically aimed at children up to the age of 18 who have been labeled medically fragile and/or technologically dependent. Children who are Medically Fragile and/or Technologically Dependent (MFTD) are eligible for additional respite funding along with their Special Services at Home and Respite allocations.

Extend-A-Family also administers the MFTD Seasonal Respite Program to provide extra out-of-home respite over the summer, Christmas and/or March Break.

As well, the support coordinators work closely with Kids' Country Club, Community Care Access Centre, Parents for Community Living and Sunbeam to enhance individualized respite options for the children participating.
