Embracing the abilities in everyone.
For more than 30 years, Extend-A-Family Waterloo Region has provided programs, services and support to children and adults with developmental/physical disabilities, and their families. We believe in an inclusive, person-centred approach to those we serve and take the time to truly get to know our families and understand their unique goals, desires and needs.
We do not receive adequate funding from the government to provide our core services, and as a not-for-profit we also rely on the generosity of donors to help us serve the needs of our community. Donations and community support play an integral role in achieving our vision of becoming a community leader in providing the best continuum of services for those with a disability and their families.
We want to ensure that families can live with dignity in our community and receive the support they need. Your support can make that happen.
Extend-A-Family Waterloo Region currently serves 1,500 people in the community and at any given time there are between 400 and 500 people on our waiting list for individualized support – a wait that is sometimes years long. Donor dollars not only mean we can fulfil our mission, they often mean we can provide emergency services, like crisis intervention and short breaks, to families while they wait.
You can make a significant difference in the lives of our families.
