Getting Started with

  

Families

• Complete the online Family Registration (call the CHAP Coordinator if you need help or want a paper copy to be mailed to you)

• A log-in username and password will be sent to the e-mail address you provide, and you will use this to update your information at any time

• The CHAP Coordinator reviews your registration, contacts you to confirm your request for support, and sends a copy of the Family Information Handbook, which walks you through the process of hiring an independent CHAP worker

• When a CHAP worker is selected during a search, the CHAP Coordinator sends you an e-mail to let you know you can view the profile in your "notifications" section on the site (or if you have requested contact by mail, the CHAP Coordinator will mail the profile to you)

• You can view general CHAP Worker classified ads or post your own to assist in your search for a worker

• You should contact the CHAP coordinator as soon as you hire a worker, if your needs change, or you longer wish to receive names but would like to remain on the registry

Workers

• Complete the online Worker Application (or printable version) and attach/upload your resume

• The CHAP Coordinator reviews your registration and if deemed suitable, further requests

  1. -Police Reference Check (with Vulnerable Screening)
  2. -Two references (for phone cotact)
  3. -Attendance at an Activation Meeting

• Your screened online Worker Registration is saved to the database

• You receive a log-in username and password which you will use to update your information at any time

• If your profile is selected when the CHAP Coordinator runs searches for families, it is sent to the family and they contact you directly if they are interested in pursuing a match with you

• As a CHAP worker you can view general classified ads posted by families or post your own about your availability and interest which families can view
