WALES is looking for a few volunteers to support adults in the gardening club.

Volunteers should be committed and enjoy gardening.

Time commitment: 2hrs/week during the summer months. Day and time to be determined upon availability of volunteers.

Hours of Work: Please note that there will be no program from August 5 to August 9 as this will be a planning and preparation week for the overnight camp. August 5 & 6 will be days off to rejuvenate for the last part of the summer!

Extend A Family Waterloo Region, in keeping with its environmentally friendly policies, as well as reducing costs, introduced electronic pay stubs (e-post) to its workers last summer and urged all workers to sign up for the free services.

Effective April 1^st, 2013,  Extend A Family will no longer mail pay stubs and anyone who hasn't  signed up for e-post will have to come to the office to pick up their pay stubs. We, therefore urge you to enroll ASAP.

Nilcole Lampa from CTV news has been doing a series about autism. For the 5th part of her series she came to EAFWR to see the impact that providing a place for kids (who typically would not be able to go out to the malls,etc) to meet Santa in a calm and nonjudgemental enviornment.

While the series focusses on autism, this event was of children and adults - served by Extend-A-Family or affected by autism.

Over the 2 days that we offered this 60 families came, and over 120 childrend and adults…
